shipping a trans ???
ok I got a problem I found out today that my dad still has my stock tranny that was sa'post to go back to dave a while ago....I thought it had been shipped out and i just owed my dad the money when I went home the next time. Boy was I wrong. Now i want to get it to dave ASAP cause i feel terrible and i'll bet he hates me and thinks he got burned.
SOOOOOOOO my question is how do i go about shipping a tranny down to him? How do i even get a quote for something like that and who do i use???
or does any one want to bring it down for me if your going that way I'll gladly pay you. Dave just really needs this

you can ship it a few ways fedex freight , that would be on a pallet, nexted fedex ground . when you ship it you would need to take it down to the fedex terminal to get the best price. where's the trans going?

Just shipped a tranny from CO to MI. Cost about $200. It was pretty easy to ship. Just call some of the various shipping companies (I used ABF) and get a set of quotes. It is cheaper to take it to a terminal and picked up at a terminal as compared to home pick up and delivery. I'm not sure but I think the extras cost was like $80. You can put it on a pallet and don't need it in a case. I actually made a frame from some junk lumber for the tranny I shipped. Never got any feedback from the guy that bought it but it must have been OK cause he hasn't complained. Biggest concern I had was that since it had been installed they considered it used auto parts and only provided 10 cent/lb insurance/liability.

I had a Ranch Hand front grill guard for sale a while back and a guy from Mont. was interested. I checked with Greyhound Bus. They were cheaper then anyone I checked with. Might check with them. Just go to their web site to get pricing.
