New Fleetguard + Shipping costs

I may have hit the wrong forum for this question but would like to know if anyone has a link enabling me to search my area for a local or at least somewhat local place to buy Fleetguard oil filters.

I just ordered the stratapore for 8.50 and payed 4.95 shipping! There's just gotta be a better way.

BTW, this site has changed a bunch since I was last here (or anywhere on the net) looks really cool!

Thank ya Fellers!

There are a few Good vENdOrS that you can buy from in bulk that would cover you for a few changes. I would mention a NAME, but I believe that is frowned on here.

It's ok to mention places like Genosgarage.com.

As long as you aren't affiliated with them.

Many folks get their filters from there, and are quite happy with them.

I have a Cummins shop I drive by on the way to work.
No shipping charges.

Try Here:
Cummins Parts & Service Locator

Just type in your location, and it'll show you parts houses in your area that carry Cummins parts & supplies.

Thats what I was looking for Shovelhead....thanks!

Geno's is where I have been buying this kind of thing but (by no fault of there's) I hate to pay half again as much more for shipping on things when hopefully I can just wheel in and buy from the shelf.

Turns out (after doing the search) that a place just about 5 mile from here may sell Fleetguard.

Thanks again all.

dcmw, your post suggests you might have only purchased one filter. If you buy six or ten at a time along with a few fuel filters, the shipping and "handling" charges don't increase significantly. The filters are sealed in shrink wrap, so they'll store for a long time.

I go to my local Cummins parts supplier and buy a case at a time.
Still avoiding the S&H costs.

I get them at the local Freighliner dealer for $6.58 ea. The big rig shops have pretty good prices on filters.I think i paid $13.00 for a fuel filter (dealer wanted $65.00).

Thanks for the suggestions but my current situation won't allow me to spend 50-70 bucks on just about anything that doesn't feed or educate a teenager, at least I'm still trying to use the best parts I can. just one at a time.

Jury is still out on what oil to use. Last time I used the Chevron in the blue jug from Wally world. Want to settle on one.....any suggestions? (NO SYNTH.) Rotella must be a good oil since it's always sold out

I don't drive this truck a whole bunch...just to work and back and occasional trip to town.
