Refinishing and repairing antique funiture??
I have a portable building full of old furniture. All of it is in rough shape but it belonged to my great aunts and uncles. I've heard many say not to refinish antiques because it reduces their overall value but I have no intention of selling any of them. I would like to put them in my new house when it's finished.
Anyone (preferably in the North TX area) have suggestions as to who to use?
OR
What to look for in a re finisher?
Thanks

Capt. Ron, Do you ever go to the trade days at Canton? There should be plenty of people there that could help. You might could call their main office and get some recomendations. My dad refinishes furniture as a hobby and got a lot of help from some of the vendors out there when he was getting started. I'll ask him tomorrow and see if he knows of anyone.
FWIW, proper refinishing should not reduce value.
