No it's not, you just don't wanna tell me!

That ain't too shabby!

Hence the 350HP!

Are the prop blades able to vary in pitch or are they fixed?
Aluminum case and cylinder heads, the rest is pretty much steel.
Honestly, if you ever looked at the structure of an aircraft you may never get in one again.
Yes, but it is a 540CID 5 banger. The pistons are a nice diameter.
Manifold pressure (boost) is measured in inches of mercury and these are redlined at 49". Normal max is 46.5"
The propellers are variable pitch and can be feathered if the engine fails.

Thanks Cougar, I appreciate the answers. Always wondered about some of that stuff.

Here are the other 5.

While he was doing most of the engine change I was working on 3 other aircraft and chasing paperwork for the new owners.

cougar, that's just way too cool! I'm just two weeks away from finishing my last course for my A & P! Been in school for the last couple of years, and all I'll be lacking is to knock out my written and oral/practicals! Writtens won't be a problem, but I'm worried about the oral/practicals! Plus the local examiner is booked up until late Sept.! Oh well, it gives me lots of study/prep time!

The propellers are variable pitch and can be feathered if the engine fails.

Engine oil driven or separate hydraulics with an axillary feathering pump?

Is that a Lycoming engine?

I was waiting for the safety wire to be installed.

This was exhausting to watch, Do you do this everyday?

I have a friend that builds his own experimental aircraft and after seeing what holds the engine to the airframe I don't think I will be going up with him.

Been around small aircraft forever (Alaskan) and I try not to think about the airframe.
Helped re-skin the wing of a friends cub a couple of years ago after some Ravens had ripped it up at the Soldotna airport.
Cracks me up. Something you trust with your life can be ripped apart by stupid birds!!

Great video's!!!

Awesome! There's someone that knows my pain! I'm Maintenance Foreman at www.reddingjet.com Sorry about the plug I've been there 20 years next April. I only have a bit of Navajo experience that I gain when one of Ameriflights cargo dogs breaks at my airport. We work on most everything but my niche is Cessna 402C's. We have a UPS contract and run a small fleet of them along with a couple Caravans. Hope to meet you one day...General aviation is a small world that's getting smaller. Tim

I am from Northern Ca and that sure looks like a door I went through at an old mine.
