New Truck on railcar - some questions

In looking at the rail schedule/status of my new truck it looks a bit strange. It was released from the Saltillo Assemby plant, was loaded on a rail car and went to Laredo, TX then arrived in Nuevo Laredo and is scheduled in the future to go to Saltillo Assembly?

Something don't look right! Am I misreading the web site?

Plant Release (KZ) 02-25-04 08:27 PM CST Saltillo Assembly, CU

Loaded on Railcar 02-26-04 07:13 AM CST Laredo, TX

Current - Railcar Arrived 02-27-04 02:20 PM CST On Railcar - Nuevo Laredo, TM

Future - Loaded on Railcar 02-27-04 06:00 PM CST Saltillo Assembly, CU

Railcar - Interchanged 02-29-04 04:00 AM CST Laredo, TX

You need to get the railcar number and track it that way. The train goes from the factory to Laredo. When it gets to Laredo the railcars are hooked to the apropriate trains for their respective destination. Laredo is the hub where the trucks are divided up. Where is your truck being shipped to?

It was updating pretty often on the site and I was watching it make its way closer to Cottage Grove, Minnesota. But for the last 24 hours it has said, "On Railcar - Valley Jct, IL" Hopefully it's not just sitting there!

How do I get the rail car number so that I can track it through the rail company?

I heard there was a train wreck in Illinois this morning. Seems a 75 unit train of autoracks led by three C44-9W locomotives went under a low clearance bridge and consequently ripped the tops out of half the cars before it was able to stop. Estimates show that approximately 120 pickups that were on the top rack (too tall for bottom racks) were damaged. Hope one of them wasn't yours.

They must not have gotten the word........ did Scotty's truck ever show after that other wreck his was on?

They must be lifting the hold on transporting autoracks this winter. Too many trains getting derailed from snow mobilers crossing the tracks and causing ice-packs.

Nah, the dealership called the Canadian Pacific railroad and gave them the boxcar number. It's on its way!
