I too thought Shadow was the best looking Doby I have ever seen (we looked at a lot of dogs/breeders before we found him) everywhere I went with him he got wow what a incredible looking dog. There was a long list of people waiting to breed there Doby's with him, glad in some ways I didn't now
If it was SAS, which it really sounds like, it'd probably be a good idea to let the breeder who bred him know. I would think that any semi-professional breeder would be very interested in tracing such a trait.

We have all ready contacted the breeder to give her the bad news (here dog's are like here kids and she always wants to hear how they are doing). She has been breeding Doby's since 1969 and is very carefull about there blood lines this is a first for her to have a dog die like this.

He was very sick as a 10 month old puppy and nearly died he had Encephalitis first Doby they have ever heard of having this (my luck) and had to take harsh meds. The pharmacists said what the heck is wrong with your dogs this is stuff is what they give to the very sick Aids patients and such, so were thinking this might have harmed him for the long run.

If you look up problem's with most purebred dogs you would think twice about buying one.

Unless you have owned a Doby its hard to tell you just how overly attached you can get to this breed.

I know what you mean, I owned a Begle1. They are not the smartest dog around, they don't mind, hard of hearing, can't train them, not easily house broke, they eat too much. I was gonna neuter him and he ran away.

About the only positive trait is.......well,.....is,......... I'll get back to you.

Oh! A showoff, grandiose, full of himself over the top theatrical actor. Yep! That's Begle1!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had to put down my dog and my horse 3 days apart. All I can tell you is time will heal the pain but you will never forget the good times you had together.
