Don't know how bad it will bite, but it sure barks pretty good for a 300.

Also a nice 'crack' exhaust note from a fresh valve job.

My dad always used to talk about a guy who would beat the pants off guys with small blocks in high school with a Nova. Then he'd add insult to injury by popping the hood and revealing the (extremely hopped up) 250 c.i. six.

When we lived in Savannah, I got hooked up with a guy that raced a HIGHLY modified 300 at the local 1/2 mile dirt track. The guy swore that the engine was producing at least 550 hp. I don't know if he was BSing me or not, but that little 6 was way fast!!!

The sixes used to be a different (but competitive) way to go if your track was usually dry slick because you got a weight break for running a six and the V-8's couldn't put the power down anyway. So you ran light and could hammer it while the V-8 guys had to tiptoe off the turns while dragging an extra couple hundred pounds. Downside was if you wanted to travel to a track that was typically tackier you would be too short on HP to run good. Also depending on car count you might not make the feature if your track was tacky early even if you would have a competitive car by the time the feature rolled around.
