Left ejecting AR 15's
Left ejecting AR 15's
I want to buy a AR sometime soon, the last one I handled was a M16 A2 when I was in the Army (75-79) seems they never had brass deflectors at the range and I usually ended up with a lot of C and O cuts on my right cheek. Needless to say I don't want that
So first question, is there a right hand eject AR that will eject at close to a 90 degree angle to the weapon? Question 2, I remember seeing a AR that you could order with left hand eject but I can't remember the mfg name so any help would be appreciated

^ Yeah, I saw one ( custom I think ) that you could switch back and forth!? That would be nice! I am right handed, but shoot everything left handed, including a bow. Gets awkward! I buy regular right handed bolt actions, but even my pistols get annoying constantly spitting shells at my face! Guess I'm gonna go revolver next time!
For one, my AR's with the deflectors on them don't hit me with brass. However, the people next to me should watch out. I went out last week and standing upright the brass lands about 8 feet to my right, almost 90 degrees.
You could also always by a brass catcher. They're handy if you have to collect brass like I do.
I know some company was making a lefty, but I don't remember either. I think Colt made one and Stag arms I think still makes one. Not completely sure.
Have a good one.

My ar ejects just slightly forward of 90*.
If your's is ejecting too far back, you can add weight to your buffer (slowing the cycle rate a bit) and it will move your ejection path. Like Mayhem said, check AR15.com, they can be a bit snotty, so do your best on searching first or atleast act like you have searched.
