If you could live anywhere...
If you could live anywhere...
Gentlemen -
I'm getting ready to move and leave the Bay Area, and it got me thinking. We live all over the western hemisphere. If you had a chance, where would you pick to live? Where have you visited and said, "I'd move here in a heartbeat", assuming money and/or employment wasn't a concern.
I've lived here in one of the most visited cities in the world. Its a neat place to live, but my favorite is......
****** San Luis Obispo, Ca. ******
Should be there by end of Sept..crusin Pismo Beach...

Mexico. Not the coast because it is too humid. Inland and a bit high. Where I used to live near Guadalajara is classed as the second nicest climate by the National Geographic. The nicest climate is a toss-up between Nairobi and a part of the coast in South Africa.
Re:If you could live anywhere...
Im happy living here at DTR.
(Except for smell Gonzo's dirty socks :
)

Actually, Im really happy where I am now. But Ive been wondering what it'd be like living in Montana or Texas.
I'd like to experience a life in a large ranch house with dozens of acres of land.
(I'd probably prefer Texas to Montana, just because I've seen the winters in Montana. Im not sure I could get used to those winters.)
Rich.

Having grown up in Casper Wyoming, I'd have to say someplace where I could see the Grand Tetons out my window. I can handle the winters and I wouldn't mind the lack of creature comforts - but there's no way to beat the beauty anyplace else in the lower 48!

Well I'd be on the move all the time. There is so much to be seen, I couldn't say that I can stay somewhere and be happy.
I'm gonna make a list of places I liked when I was there:
Western Africa:
Lome (Togo)
Mali (mountains)
Algeria(south of Tamanrasset)
Ouagadougou (Capital of Burkina Faso- wonderful city)
North America:
Pennsylvania
New York city (not to live there, but revisit)
Texas
Europe:
Austria (I am quite biased)
Northern Italy
France (Langue d'Oc, Cote d'Azur and the Pyrenees)
Just some of the places I would like to see again... and there are a lot more to be seen ;D
Some donations for my travel funds ???

You mean there's life outside of Texas?? ???

Not as far as you know!
Just stay where you are, Hoss! I don't think the rest of the world is ready for you.

Texas hill country.....or Zaca Creek area, between Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, CA. Rolling meadows of stirrup high grass, 100 year old oak trees, and very few people. I'd settle for 20-30 acres, two story clapboard house with a porch all the way around....
I'll be there as soon as I cash out the red neck retirement plan (Lotto)
