If you could live anywhere...
Re:If you could live anywhere...
I gotta 2nd the guy who said the riveria maya in Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula...
About an hours drive south out of Cancun, is a village called "Akumal"...means turtle in spanish...Has the most spectacular beach I will probably ever see...uncrowded, but enough to do nearby..I will go back there..
Since you all seem to like mountains, my favorite is still uncrowded, since none of you mentioned it....Glenwood Springs, Colorado...I'd go there too..
Doesn't anyone like the desert???

Berchtesgaden or Garmisch, but only after I caught all the Brook Trout in Michigan. Would like to see the Black Forest, the next time around as well.

I love the desert - to drive through and visit, but not to live in.

This particular remark was directed towards Californians who seem to travel north with their massive land cruisers, clogging the roads and admiring the mountains (mostly cuz they're not obscured by smog).

On the upside, Blaine had some great places to eat.....

Been There:
Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Brazil, Canada, Hawaii
would love to live on the North shore of the big island and just watch the waves and kick back. We spent 9 days camping on the north shore of big island, most relaxed I've EVER been.
Worse place, Indonesia, a TRUE 3rd world country, China is too crowded, Japan is Beautiful, Taiwan is crowded, and you can not even have chewing gum in Singapore ( had 4 packs of big red confiscated). But if I can't live in Hawaii, second choose is Brazil, if my wife slapped my eyes back into my head 1 time, she did it 100 times (BEAUTIFUL LADIES), and no she would not me go to the beach at Rio, maybe next time when she's not with me ;D ;D ;D

First is Northern Minnesota!
Got to love ice fishing with 15,000 other people on a 5 mile lake with streets signs, plowed roads and ice fishing houses. Drive your truck on the lake and pull up to your winter home away from home. Turn on the propane heater and start fishing.
Second would be North Western Montana near Big Mountain. Love to ski and is a short hop to many other skiing destinations.

Thats a tought one, grew up in the South, too humid for me but beautiful country. Been in most of the States and sixteen countries. I think each State has some nice places, even Texas. I'm partial to the Mts myself, Silverton to Durango Colo, is one great ride on a Motorcycle.
I love the Bitter Root Valley, Wind River Range and most of Western Montana, beautifull country.
I have Sisters that live in Santa Barbara, too crowded for me I will take the Washington, or Oregon Coast anyday.
But I live in Utah which I think has the most varity of sceenery. 8)

I would have to say that the mountains of Colorado (Telluride, Rico, Durango ... ) is God's Country. Haven't found a place in the world that compares.
I still want to see the Swiss Alps though.
PumpDaddy, you know what they say ... Singapore is a FINE city. You get fined for this and fined for that and fined for ...
