Yes they are very sweet straight outta the box, with some work they are unbeatable imho. I wish you had a .308 you wanted to part with. How do you like the tan stock?
I called the local shop here and he does still have the two VSF's in 308. One is used @ $700 and the other in new @ $789 and they do do transfers. The used one still has the box and is in out of the box condition.
The only two differences between a VSF and a PSS is the "J" lock on the bolt shroud of the VSF and the PSS is held to a little tighter standard when leaving the factory on what it will do on paper. There are even rumors that Rem did away with the "J" lock but I have not confirmed that.
