Gun ID?

I just inheirited a few guns. There are two that I am unsure about. The first is a dbl. barrel appears to be 16 ga. with a 9mm barrel underneath. It has a button that you push to flip up the rifle sights. I am not sure about the cal. I just inserted some ammo that I had. The gun is made in Germany and looks pretty old but is in good shape with loads of engraving. The 2nd one is an old m-1 carbine in very rough shape but appears everything is intact. Anyone know anything about the 1st. one? How much are the carbines worth?
Thanks
Joe

it is a high dollar gun, donot just ask what it is worth at a gun shop. you need to do some back ground work and see what it is reall worth. a german made drilling is wort bucks.

Sounds like a German drilling. Usually in 16 or 20 guage. The 9mm is probably a 9x63(?) or 9x74. All are very desirable as collectors. Average worth is ~$1500 - well into the 5 digit range, depending on the manufacturer and condition. PM some info off the barrels and I'll look it up for you.

Wonder if it's a Krieghoff or a Merkel. Worth some big bucks if in very good condition.

Thanks,I'll look when I get home. I do remember you pull a lever to remove the forearm and there is a crown and some other markings. There is also a flip up on the underside of the stock where you store extra rounds. The carbine is pretty rusty and has the letters si and some other markings or #s that I can't make out. The carbine had a fully loaded 20 rd clip in it. the mag had been loaded so long some of the bullets were kind of fused together.
Thanks
Again

Get ahold of a BlueBook , just about the best single book for info and value , then when you go to talk to a prospective buyer you'll have some idea what the truth is , when it comes to collectobles and your thinking of full price you have to work to find that retail buyer , and if you sell to dealer he needs to make a profit , it might be easyer to find a good wholesale price from dealer thatn to go looking for the max retail , ebay could help but you need to take to dealer for transfer & shipping - then to another dealer to have sent to , about $10 min. + shipping at both ends , so it could cost $50 to send to private party .

PM me an e-mail addy and prepare some pics- maybe I can help you.
I won't be able to tell you anything about US market pricing, but might be able to give you some info on the history of the alleded german gun. If you are lucky it might be an Austrian Drilling.
