Red face Greetings from Japan!

I'm over here in Kumamoto on business and haven't seen any diesel Rams. Come to think of it I haven't seen any American pickups at all over here.

The jet lag is brutal but the sushi is great!

DT.

Do you have to drive on the other side of the road over there?

Yep, they drive on the wrong side of the road.

You have to be very careful to look before you step out onto the street, that's for sure.

Very dangerous.

It's funny how everything over there is smaller. For example, go into a restroom and you'll be banging your knees on the wall in front of you when you sit on the toilet that's about 6 inches away from the wall next to you. A mid 90's Geo Metro would be a luxury car compared to the size cars they have!

I feel for ya. I have a trip planned to Taiwan next month, the flight is going to be brutal.

Taiwan is interesting...lots of Chinese people and Chinese influence. I've only spent about 6 hrs in the airport though...no time in the city...

I just got back and walked in the door.

The Japanese are really great people, they can't do enough for you.

The most polite country I've ever visited.

Like you'll see some people walking down the street wearing surgical masks, and I asked why and was told alot of people, when they get a cold or something they'll wear a surgical mask to keep from spreading germs to other people.

Good people.

Now to get some sleep.

As a bigger guy I can agree with that one. Everything is much smaller over there.

The other thing I can't figure out is how they still use the old Eastern-style (hole in the ground) toilets. You go to alot of places and you find a fully electronic toilet with heated seats, automatic air deodorizers, built-in bidets and every other feature you want. But they still hang onto some of those Eastern-style ones.

Yeah, I visited Taiwan about 10 years ago and I couldn't get used to those squatty potties. It's like being out in the woods 'cuz you have to bring your own TP, too.

Squatty Potty? Might as well give me an E-Tool and a package of John Wayne wipes.
Luckly I'm staying in a western style hotel and the company I'm visiting is modern to western standards.
Later in the year I should be going to Shanghai so that's going to be interesting.
