going to give her a rub down this weekend

what do you guys like for wax?
i have never had another truck that i bothered waxing as they were always DD/wheeling rigs

also, i was thinking i will pull the plastic bed liner out, wax the inside of the bed but not rub it off, and throw the liner back in
i figure this will give extra protection to the bed when water gets trapped under the liner until i can afford line-x

I use Dupont Teflon wax, meguiars, turtle wax, and mothers. Whichever one is closest to my hand when I reach for it. They all work about the same but turtle wax does seem to last a bit longer.

And the way I've always looked at it is that, if you have wax on the vehicle period, then you're pretty spiffy. Wax to me is like suits; I don't care if you have a $3,000 Armani or a $200 Calvin Klein, if you're in a suit at all it exceeds my standards to the point that I'm impressed. Just like wax.

Last time I waxed anything was 5-10 years ago.

Your right, and it wont be worth it (for anyone).

Been using Nano Wax products, myself, recently. Great stuff!

At first I used the spray on wax but it never seemed to last much more than a washing or two. Just this past time I switched to the Wax and Polish. Amazing results and has lasted a while so far.

For my chrome/aluminum I use the Nano Wax metal polish. It's supposed to prevent corrosion. The jury is still out on that, but I tell you, my stacks look absolutely amazing when I get done with the stuff.

Any wax that is 100% Carnauba will do the trick for you. Try to stay away from the formula 2000 teflon, silicone type's. Well, anything that ends with con or cone. They shine but if you ever have to have any paint work done, the new paint will have more problems coming out good.

I started out using Turtle wax paste. Moved to Kit paste, has the magic Carnooby stuff. Then when I had the SRT-10 hood painted, the owner of the body shop turned me onto PINK "502" Carnauba wax. It is also a paste. goes a long ways. And the finish ends up slicker than snot. Kinda shows my up bringing/age, I prefer a good paste wax over the goopy stuff.

But then, my MTD lawn mower like's the space age stuff. Goes on and comes off easy. Good place too use up the "fancy" stuff.

Oh, and Derek_J. A tip for your hopefully still wheelin' day's. No matter what your rig looks like, a good coat of wax helps get it clean when you get it home. And also helps cut down on the brush striping and mud stains. Unless you are the kind that likes to have the battle scares show.
