Now that you bought a house you will need a truck more than ever.....

If the truck is paid off, how will selling it help you other than giving you a few bucks to make a few payments? As soon as that money runs out you will discover that the truck's gone, the money's gone, and that you probably made a big mistake selling it............

If you are still making payments then that's a different story.....

Well - it's your choice after all. Congratuations on living a paid-for existance, it's way too rare these days!

Perhaps downsizing would be good, however these truck are so much more economical to keep fuel in - compared to a gas 1/2 ton, but they cost more to repair. It's a toss up, how much does the house need?

Looking at your sig, I'd say it's not worth selling. You've got a lot into her and all that expensive stuff will actually work against you on resale value. I think you'll be kicking yourself down the road if you let that truck go.

Sell the house and buy a 5th wheel. Best of both worlds!

Just bought a house (paid in full) and now getting the truck (also paid in full)to haul all that house stuff. Keep the truck, you'll need it.

Next, a motor cycle (BMW R1200R)for daily trips to town, 17 miles. woooeee!

Worked hard all my life in the muddle east, now it's time to play a little!

No way, I use my truck more than ever owning , and working on my home, I'd be lost without it. Just last week I needed a load of mulch , the week before I bought 5 sheets of 3/4 plywood for my shed, same week I picked up a bunk bed set for my kids, and lastly I brought my mower over to mow my dads lawn, because he's just been diagnosed with some major cancer. i be lost without a truck.

id get me a little s-10 but with having the truck the numbers dont add up keeping the house is more important then keeping the truck i can always get another one besides im still a kid 20yrs old. the house just needs little things paint and attention to detail things. im tight with my money and dont like being in debt and always like to have plenty for an o crap situation. im still kicking it around and havent made my mind up 100% but it will most likely go.

Id keep it, especially with the house. Buying wood to make things, new appliances, furniture hauling.....fence posts, gravel for the drive and the list goes on. Mine sits alot now, usually have some flags I put on the back of the truck and ride up to work friday before Memorial day.....not this year, can't afford a quarter tank of fuel wasted. Well worth keepin though since it's paid for and if you rarely drive it.....you can say she ain't eatin much.

I have heard that oil will fall in a couple years.....besides it's alot easier to get 10 2x4s in a pickup than a prius

dont sell the truck, when you start hauling mulch, top soil, and/or gravel you will want that 2500 under ya.

first off you could only put about 1/2 of what you could put in your 2500 in the s-10 with out wasting your rear suspension.

second, the diesel in that truck would be able to move that weight alot easier that the little 4.3 in the s-10.

third, the 2500 would stop that load alot better than the s-10, cause of larger brakes.

Just like me, man.

But listen, if the truck is paid off, keep it and don't sell it till you're down to your last Cornflake.

Good job on a house at 20! That's amazing.

Sadly, the add-ons hurt resale, in this market, you'd be lucky to get over $12,500 for it. Good luck...
