Scotty, that is truly horrible!!!!! After reading about your brothers loss I sat for a few minutes and tried to imagine how I would feel about suddenly losing everything, especially with no insurance. Don't think that it is really possible to walk in his shoes with a loss like that as I cannot wrap my head totally around the feelings.

Have added your brother to my daily prayer list. Please keep us updated on his progress. What about his family?

 

His family has left him long ago for many reasons related to his mental health.
He is with a gal that I've never met and it is puzzling to me why they don't have insurance. There's no excuse for that.
The first story was they fled their home to a hotel with next to nothing worried because of no insurance.
I'm Praying some kind of common sense intervention occurs. It hasn't yet.
The most recent 'story' is they where forced to evacuate and are at a shelter. Now I'm wondering if their place was even in the fire.
Sadly this is the typical go around with part of my family.

102 active fires in the province right now and of those 9 are threatening buildings.

All this seems to have blown up (turned critical) within the last week.
For the first time since 2003 the province has declared a provincial state of emergency due to fires.

Went from a soaker of a winter to a tinder dry summer in the blink of an eye...

 

Yeah I read oncbc the fires were popping up faster then they could post them. Thats crazy!

Part of the problem is the forests are full of dead standing well dried trees left over from the mountain pine beetle. That provides plenty of ready fuel for any sort of fire. It can also make fighting the fire a big challenge as crews need to deal with all sorts of trees that have fallen over.
Some stands are just like a pile of kindling that has been tossed in a pile. trees tipped over in every direction.

The province is paying logging companies to make huge "clear cuts", salvage whatever timber they can, pile up the rest in a burning pile and light that up in the winter.

Ugh, it's getting bad.....
I'm not sure it's on the same scale as the Fort McMurray fires last year in Alberta but I don't think you can tell that to the people affected.
It's also not "just" one community that's affected. Some of these locations are hundreds of km apart.

Hey guys its been a while but I have a friend (we go back 20 plus years) and she is in a real tough spot. Her name is allison and she's fighting to get her life back on track. I would really appreciate all the prayer you can spare she is making a valid effort and I want her to succeed. Thanks Nate

Hello to All. It's been quite a while since I've been online. I've been catching up, wow a lot has happened since my last visit. Prayers for each one of you and your loved ones. Thank you all for the Prayers, my mother is still in hospice care. It's been a year now and she just keeps hanging on. I Pray that her suffering ends and she can be at peace with our loved ones that have made it into heaven. Thank you all and may God continue to Bless us with love and hope. Take care all.
