As the lab results come in we had to change the antibiotics.
The infections detected so far are resistant to the Keflex.
I've been on double max dose of a sulfa drug combo now. 4200 mgs.
see surgeon tomorrow and so far I've been told surgery is on Tuesday.
the drug I'm taking now will fight the next expected anaerobic infection result. This is a stop gap to slow the infection until surgery.
only real way to arrest this is to remove the abcess and address all issues by surgery.

once this is healed up, I'll be going to the Mayo Clinic.

 

Got you covered in prayer already and will keep you covered daily until you tell me to stop praying for you and the medical team supporting you.

Made it home yesterday instead of 3-5 nights.
get the drain removed tomorrow.
should have some results tomorrow as well to discuss.
switched to a third antibiotic.
focus on healing and eliminating the infection.
once that's achieved, onward to the Mayo Clinic for the reconstruction.
doing ok. Pain is there but it's manageable.

each day feels better. Still early to say infection is gone.
doc found three pockets of fluid. Pathology will be back today.
24 staples come out on the 9th.

Anyone out there with a connection to a higher power, I would appreciate a spirit calling to my Mother in law, who, overnight became gravely ill, and is now on the pathway to a higher, friendlier plain.

Tonight, I sit here witnessing her 86 and a half years of a blessed life heading on its way back to the better place. Hoping she would quickly release from this old, broken body, and let the spiritual journey begin, but only she knows how long that will take. The ones left behind will remember her for how wonderful she is, and was.

God speed, Eloise. Your husband, and other passed family members await you.

 

As requested, prayers said for her quick release from this life. May she go even in the next few hours and be released forever from the pain and frustration of a tired and broken body. Also prayers said for the family members left behind who will mourn her passing. If she is a Christian, then be glad for where she will soon be. Kinda makes me jealous as I would like to be there too.

My brother lost everything in a forest fire in BC yesterday.
He had to evacuate.
He didn't have insurance. Not sure what to think.
