With her brother on one side of the bed, and Susanne on the other, holding their mothers hands, and stroking her hair, Susanne whispered to her mother that there was no need to fight, it was time to go to be with grandma, and she would see her there soon. A soothing calm embraced the room as Cathy's grip slowly slacked, and the final breath in this world expelled. With a look of comfort, and the knowledge that her two children gave up their lives to care for her so she could end hers with dignity and respect. Cathy stepped through, I am sure with a giggle, and has gone to be with God.

Thank you for all your prayers, they were answered 10x over. For that my family is forever grateful.

God Bless.

Aw Jeff, peace and comfort to the family. Take heart, she's in the best place she can be, probably gleeming with joy as she's with the angels and Lord looking down.

If I got to choose the way, this would be it. Prayers to you, your wife and family. It's a blessing to see she didn't linger.

Jeff - - always tough to loose a loved one. If that person has made their peace with God, it is wonderful for them, but tough on those left behind. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Know that when the tears slow down, in its place will be smiles and laughter as you remember the neat and fun times together. God's peace be with you and all the family.

Bob

For Jim.

On thursday April 12 my good friend and neighbor Jim Hopkins was killed. He was an ET1 with the US Coast Guard, husband, father and proud owner of a 2011 CC 3500 SRW and even more recent a new travel trailer. Jim gave the people of the U.S. 20 plus years of service and had atleast one more tour planned before he retired. I know that if I had kept track I could tell you that he and his wife had shoveled my driveway more times than I did this winter while I was on duty, deployed or just gone on a flight somewhere for a night or two. We shared many drinks together, talked about our trucks and our plans for when either of us would someday transfer from Kodiak. He will be forever missed and never forgotten. Please take a minute and pray for his family.

Gonna miss you buddy.

If everyone could say a small prayer for my grandmothers husband (they married waayyy after my grandfather passed) it would greatly appreciated. He passed on Sunday morning (4-29-12) about 7:30. Although, not my grandfather, he was a great man to my "Nana" and therefore I am thankfull for that. He was 95 yrs old and in very good health up until that day when the good Lord said it was time. May you Rest In Peace Johnny!!!!! Thank you for taking care of my Nana for that last 15 yrs.

You got it!

I can relate to a loss like this with my Step Dad...who was more of a dad then....well, you get the picture. Sounds like your Nana and Johnny were good for you.

Thanks Scotty. Much appreciated. My grandfather was a great man, however he died when I was only 7. As far as I can remember, he was everything a Grandfather should have been. The man my Grandmother married was just as good as any man should be.....hardworking, loving, and compassionate. I couldn't have asked for anything more for her. Again, he was a good man in the short amount of time I knew him. RIP.
