What apple and blueberry fritters?
Wow, I'm glad I make my own coffee!
Got into the upper 80°s and very humid last evening. Thought I was going to die from heat stroke. Cooled off overnight though to a more reasonable 48° this morning. Supposed to get into the upper 60° with thunder storms this evening. I hope it holds off until I get my wood butchery done for the day.

Been goofing off all weekend. Went to town to see Big Boy 4014 on Friday. With the crowd, along with a gazillion mostly uncontrolled kids, It pulled through real slow and easy on it's way from St. Paul to Duluth. Yesterday, my wife and I found a crossing out in the country where there were only a couple of other folks waiting to see it return from the Duluth-Superior weekend. It thundered through at a good speed, still barely working pulling a couple dozen passenger cars and a diesel locomotive deadstick for electricity.
That thing's a beast. It's 167 tons and 8 drivers bigger than the freedom train 4449. It is beautifully rebuilt, and runs very smooth and strong. As I said, pulling a passenger train, it barely had the typical steam pulse. It was there, it just wasn't working very hard.

I'd love to see this thing pulling 3600 tons up a 1.5% like it was designed to do.

Sweet Loco.... I'd love to see that up close, where I could examine all the engineering into it.

Well, a lot of folks without power here.

Me ? I left my sunroof open in my little pickup. A wet seat is nothing to complain about.

Yeah, I found Blueberry fritters,as the blueberries are still in season here. Can't get enough blueberries, as they're like lays potato chips. You can't eat just one. ... or was that a Wise old owl ?

Oh well, at least I didn't wake up to this:

Morning all - - - cleaned up the mess on the counter and floor, sterilized the utensils and pots, made freshly brought in coffee and ph00
and left apple fritters in the covered dish on the counter.. Enjoy...………………….………………..Oh, fed the dragon.

Working at the desk all day - way behind. Gorgeous morning and due for more typical afternoon Florida showers. Plants are
in full bloom. Some plants are so full of bloom hard to see any green on them. Great sight driving by.

Me gone.

Finally getting some much needed rain and cooler temperatures. Puts a damper on my carpentry work, but we need the rain. Hope it's enough to put a damper on our out of control fire season.

I noodled on it a bit. It was spec'd to pull 3,600 tons up a 1.5% grade. It'll do 4,400 with a bit of spare. When in freight service, they did that fairly often. Let's just say it'll pull like a demon.
