The Water Cooler........17 July 05 - 24 July 05

Up and at 'em gang. 0700aminthemorningtime.
Finishing up the packing and heading out west bound, again, for a bit of TDY. Look out McKinney, Texas, Shortround is headed your way. Lock up the liquor, guns, and your women folk.
Got to get the chewbakkie and beer properly stowed.
Rob, I didn't realize that you used to be a twidget on a skimmer.

Hey SR & ,Davey hope you both have a safe trip.

Sunday AM, breakfast is gone, Honey-Do's assigned.
At least I'm not at work today (yet).
Work's Emergency from Friday STILL not resolved, the group that's supposed to be finding and resolving the problem has spent the past 48 hrs spinning it's wheels, accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Time to get the Do's list broken-down into "Accomplish" & "Ignore" catagories.

Right after I get a fresh cup-o-coffee..........

Y'all B safe

Good morning mods

as well as members and guests, if you all are in the south texas area we are being blessed with something we dont see quite so often, RAIN... its been really dry here lately, Right now apart from bein on this, my net haven, im still doin research for my toxicity class. Had a good nite last nite, caught a few movies with someone special, and right now back to workin on the school grind, will this pay off? hopefully so, i know it will. Its nice out right now, cloudy, nice and grey and about 82 degrees, we need a lil more rain, the ranches down here really need it. Other than the usual, school, work, horses, and errands routine not much new here on my part. Just wanting to get everything done. also on my agenda, make sure my college is paid for for the fall semester, graduation process is complete, and that i can just go to school worry free and finish my last classes so that i can bow out gracefully and join the real world workforce with a better job. I hope all is well for everyone else.. have a good one.. my coffee is up...

Tx

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood.... UGH, someone one said "easy like sunday morning" Ok, if this is easy, I'll take monday.

After a nice small hours callout, I get to shower, then think about breakfast and some coffee to get me through the rest of the day. Cool overcast here today, not a scorcher like several days past.

All in all, things are good, lets have fun for another week.

Hi gang,
Gorgeous day in Anchorage today - - 60's and warm sun. A tad different than back home. Went shopping with the CFO - - she decided she needed some Alaska gold jewelry - - yep, we will, out of necessity, be leaving for the lower 48 immediately - - will one tank of fuel get me to Florida???? Of course, I had to reciprocate with the most gorgeous porcelain of two wolves for my office. Wow, they are nice. Oh well, can't take it with me, so enjoy while I am here. Great momentos of a wonderful trip.

The fiver is due out of the shop tomorrow - - whew - - I am about to go nuts in these hotels. Now, on for the rest of Alaska.

Aloha !!!

It is so nice outside that it feels like somewhere else. I took a nice walk in the woods yesterday to try out my new GPS unit (Garmin Foretrex 101). I never had one before. Seems to work ok ... I made it back to the car .
I made a meal of wild strawberries and raspberries while stopping for a breather. A guy could get used to that kind of foraging !!!

Fiver, hope the trailer repair works for ya ... have a safe trip home. I wouldn't be in too big of a hurry to get there until AFTER hurricane season.

Yun's have a great day !!!

Triple H forecast today.
Chance of "severe" T-Storms later this afternoon.
Beast in the lot with no A/C.

Monday morning, sipping coffee just waiting to hear what the folks left in charge of finding a solution for last weekend's "emergency" came up with.
Explaination should be entertaining.

Glad to hear the 5'er will be back on the road FB.
PW, next time someone tells you to "Get Lost", now you'll have to reply,
"I'll have to wait until the batteries die in my GPS."

Power-Nap scheduled for ~1000hrs.

Y'all B safe.

Well, did my share for "the cause" this weekend, helping Opec. Had to run around the state Friday and do some family appearances. Went to the big city Saturday to shop for a cookout. Got home and found a quick squall had knocked the power out for the day. Had to run all the way back and get ice for all the new groceries and some more candles. The cookout was a success though. Sunday, took the old beast down to Chaikwa's and spent the afternoon building up a new bumper and reciever. Ready to lash up to the back of a v-8 now. I was dying to hone my lack of welding skills, but he kept me at bay so it would be done right the first time. I did get to weld the tail lights back on though. Couldn't have picked a hotter day for welding though. That truck looks like it hit the ugly tree (I really did), but man I love driving it. We did some more grilling, then called it a night. Had to come back to work for some rest.... have a good one.

Hi y'all.
Made it fine. Run into Rob (hotdram) today. Guess I was too easy to spot in the chow hall. Must be something about the clothes I was wearing.
Getting ready to get horizonal. Got an early one tomorrow. It's funny how when you have meetings all day, get home and relax a bit, and then you think of all the questions you didn't ask earlier.

A wet morning ... great !!!

I think SR plans his authorized "Boondoggles" according to the DTR membership map. He seems to conveniently bump into someone from here on each trip !!
He's quite the "Social Butterfly"

I think this is gonna be a short day today because of my **** cataracts. (Can't see my butt staying here past 4pm). Didn't get outta here until 1930 again lastnight ... and I really have noone to blame it on but me .

Enjoy the day ... I'll be peekin in on ya later,

Made it back from the Oregon coast yesterday. had a great time, the old girl got a little warm on the steep hills pulling the atv trailer loaded down. so tomorrow I'll pull the radiator out and send it to town for a good cleaning. I guess that's not to bad for 240.000 miles on it though.

Muggy Morning in the Swamp.
At 0600, it's already 80 degrees.

G-G got the nod this morning.
With no AC in the Beast, it's a toss-up for which one is a warmer way to travel.

Tuesday's coffee tastin' mighty good.
Need sugar laced Carbo-Grenades to keep it company.
Top quit getting the Pink-Sprinkly ones delivered when Huey retired.

Y'all B safe,

Did I go home or just burn gas?! Back at it this morning. I look at the screen waiting for something to happen and then I remember I have to click the mouse. On the good side, yesterday was Monday, today is Friday.

Pistol, this ain't a boondoggle. I have you know that everything I'm doing is supporting the troops. One question tho, how far is it from your location to Luxemburg? Got an invite to the NAMSA site for a couple of weeks. Looks like a good place for some additional "specialized" training
Everything going good here. The only down side is that to go anywhere in the facility, you have to walk at least a half mile to get there.
