Oh dear you have to think real hard and get it figured out what you did. You're running out of vehicles.

Bet your heart jumped out your throat and landed on the dash when that pedal hit the floor. Glad you got through unscathed.

Yikes! The brake lines on the 57 Buick havent rusted yet.
I was going to say you need to stop going anywhere but than I remembered the Beast got clobbered in your yard.
Maybe you should just drop a tree onto the Aries to appease the gods and get it over with.

Funny you should say that.
The Aries had a narrow miss a few weeks ago.
That branch was about 20 feet long and fell from about 50 feet up.
Didn't even scuff the bumper, missed by about 3 inches.
I think Mom is still watching over her car making sure it stays OK.

UPDATE:
USAA 'adjuster' (HIS insurance company ) says only $2500 in damages.
Body guy (I went over the truck on a lift today with the body shop) saw obvious stuff today that the adjuster missed ..... Like the front body bolts still connected from the frame to the body but no longer straight (think the cab might be "tweeked"?), Right side got hit so hard the lower control arm hit the caliper, and the right front rim bent in approx 2".
Body shop guy said he'd go over it with the proverbial F.T.C. and send a suplimental estimate to USAA in the morning.

I HATE the thought of having truck payments again.
If it's totaled, I'm looking at replacing it with a 2500 4X4.
Not sure if I'm going for the "New Improved" Cummins.........

I have been with USAA for 40 years.
They take pretty good care of their members and will try and shaft other carriers and people (I like em).
My experience has been that they don't like long drawn out claims so (as you probably already know) dont get in a hurry if possible.

Ed, very sorry to see your ride in this condition. I got attacked by a runaway 280Z once while driving my second Cummins (93 model). I only suffered a bent rear fender but it spun me 180 in my lane.

I'm not in a hurry.
It's GOING to be RIGHT, or they're not done....even if it's after I first pick it up.
After 177,000 miles, I know how my truck drove, rode and handled BEFORE.
And I've got a pretty good feeling that USAA is going to be sorry MY truck got hit before it's all said and done.

Heh we've had USAA forever as well (not as long as Bark). They've taken care of us but we've never had to go against them.

The new trucks are not that bad Ed.

Well, once you fix em, that is. The newer you fix em the better.

Kinda sad how that works out aint it.

Hope all ends well for you.

Got "THE" call from the body shop this afternoon.
Waiting for "THE" call from his insurance company.

Looks like approx $8700 in damage. (pretty much the ENTIRE front suspension damaged, in addition to the cab, fender, and door)
Dealer states truck worth approx 8 grand.

I'd like to find ANOTHER in as good mechanical shape for 8 grand.
Heck, at 177,000 miles ... it's JUST broken in, and with a Goerend tranny.

On the other side of the coin, I saw a Burgundy 2012 2500 LongHorn Edition 4X4 diesel while in Farmville over the weekend.
Wifey likes it.
Sticker is $54000 (of course I won't pay that much.... )

Still trying to decide if I want a 2500 diesel, or a 1500 gasser.
The gasser would be MUCH cheaper on the Virginia Personal Property tax.
>7,501lb GVW is taxed like a commercial vehicle (100%), whether is it's used as commercial or not.
<7,501lb is rebated @ 70% so I'd only pay 30% per year.

I paid <$30k for my dually.
I guess prices have gone up a little since 1999.
Might be chatting with the Farmville dealer this week, and taking a day off.
