Anyone used lemon law or got a new truck replaced?

This is just a preliminary search, My truck is dying while coasting & my mechanic at the dealer doesn't know what's causing it.
they've only had the truck a couple of days so I'm probably jumping the gun with this question, hopefully they'll figure it out & fix it.

It is a serious enough problem to worry about though, when it shuts off I lose the power steering & it takes some serious muscle to turn it at all & the vacuume pump shuts down & there goes the power brakes.
I've had this happen hauling my trailer (6000 lbs) going 50 mph on a rual highway, it's kinda scary when it happens.

Like I said I'm probably jumping the gun here but it's something I thought I should find out some info about, I read some post about bad paint that the guys might have gotten a new truck out of the deal & I want to see what hoops they or anyone else had to jump through.

I read the Oklahoma lemon law & it seems that I may have to pay for the 5000 miles I put on the truck but they have to pay for taxes, tags, registration & the like.
The Ok lemon law seems to be mostly about recurring problems (4 or more trips to the dealer with no fix) & long term down time (45 days), but I didn't see anything about safety issues (like losing power steering at speed when it shuts down).

Do they have to find me another truck exactly like mine (Red 03) with the same options & what if there are no more 03's like mine??
will I have to negotiate the deal all over again or just get a truck with the same sticker price as mine as a straight swap??
What about the accessories that can't be removed from the truck like window tint or a sprayed in bedliner, do they have to replace them too?

Any info you can give me would be appreciated.

Due to the nature of the question:

Im going to move this one to the "Other" section as it pertains to Lemon Laws in general.

I thought there was a book that came with the truck about the lemon law... ??? Maybe that will clear up some questions...

Ya gotta be a Philadelphia lawyer to figure out the Lemon Laws. Each state is different. Most will say something to the effect that the vehicle has to be out of service for x number of days out of each month for x number of months or that if the initial problem hasn't been fixed x number of times, then the law applies. However you don't get a brand-new vehicle out of it. You go to arbitration first. Very tricky wording and what the state does is even weirder.

I had a 99 replaced.... You probably will have to pay a fee per mile that is on the truck. The way they did mine was DC gave me sticker for my truck against sticker of the truck of my choice (I had to order one to get what I wanted). Turned out to be a good deal. I paid $.10 a mile and got a 2 year newer ride with zero miles.

Re:Anyone used lemon law or got a new truck replaced?

I bought a 92 Dakota back in 92 for $16,000 it was a regular cab short box 4x4 V8, I owned it one year one month and one day. During that time it was in the shop something like 45 days over nine different visits. For things like a nasty brake pulsation, (three trips, dealer couldn't duplicate had to be wet out), could see through the paint and look at primer, axle seals, just tons of stuff but the real problem was the dealer not wanting to fix it right and thinking he knew everything. So I start the lemon law thing, wrote out a beautiful 9 page letter explaining each visit and the outcome of each, few weeks later I get a call from the factory rep that I had met with before this, he says bring it in we'll fix it right this time. I said no you already had your chance, if I bring it in I'm not picking it up, you need to give me a new truck. After going round and round with him on the phone for 45 minutes or so with my co-worker looking at me wondering who I was talking to (I was telling the guy he was useless but in not so nice terms) he tells me they will give me a $4000 certificate good towards the purchase of a new Dodge vehicle and that I need to trade mine in and do all the dealing. Sold I said. So I go shopping around (the 2nd gens are just hitting the lots) decide on a 94 1/2 ton loaded, had to order it. For my trade in they end up giving me $14,000 and I pay sticker for the 94 which everybody was paying full price when they first came out there was no dealing on price. So anyway $14,000 coupled with the $4000 certificate and I am getting $18,000 for a truck I paid $16,000 for a year earlier. Sorry this is kinda long but I just love that story. Oh and the best part the freak service manager at the dealership I was dealing with ended up losing his job, the general manager said, I wasn't the reason but I was the straw that broke the camels back.

Re:Anyone used lemon law or got a new truck replaced?

I just went through the process. I had a 03 with tranny problems, the 47re. After taking it back 4 times to the dealer, I send the card in the glove box to DC, they called a few days later. I opted for the money back instead of a new truck. It has taken awhile to get all of the paperwork together, but I am picking up my check tomorrow. The first time I took the truck in was at 6,000 miles, so they deducted $1k for the mileage. I now have 22k on the truck, which will be gone tomorrow. I am going to buy a new one, just from out of state to get the HO. If you have any questions, I will write back. Most of the info is in the glove box.

I was under the impression too that is has to be a safety issue which you have but it can not be from the radio skipping and bringing it in.... they will never lemon law a truck for that but a truck stalling is a valid reason and in NY it is 3 attempts to fix or 30 days in shop...
