anyone shoot kimber pistols?

i just purchased a kimber ultra carry II in .45 cal. today. i know the CDP version of this has night sights and a "premium" match grade trigger instead of a match grade trigger, and the finish is a bit different. other than that what are some differences? there was a $400 difference between the two and the above mentioned differences are all that i can come up with. thanks. BTW i bought it as opposed to a glock 27. really liked the glock, just had a hard time holdin on because of the 2 finger grip.

I'm no expert, but i'm just shy of buying a CDP fullsize. The other major differences besides what you listed is the the melt treatment they give to the slide and frame. They basically grab the parts off the line before they get the finish put on and send them to their "custom shop". Once there, they machine and grind all the sharp edges off (aka melting it). This is supposedly to make it slightly easier to conceal under clothing and not catch on your clothing and holsters. Thats bascially what I learned from their web site.

You'll shoot your eye out..........

Carefully place it back in the box and mail it (via FFL transfer) to me...I'll take good care of it for you........

1911s are like Lays Potato Chips........One is NOT enough.

A Kimber CDP is on my Christmas list.

Congrats.

i called and talked to the shop i bought it at and it looks like it might be goin to kimbers custom shop before i take possession to have some CDP stuff done probably cocobolo grips, tritium sights, the premium trigger, and the bluing taken off the slide. i cant wait, shot like a DREAM. much better than my 4006 TSW.

i just like the fact that there was a little more to hold onto with teh kimber as opposed to the glock. i really have been impressed with glocks, just thought id get something different. hard to fault a glock tho. i honestly havent shot kimbers enough to know yet.

Hey! I resent that statement! I must not have let you shoot mine yet.

In all seriousness though, the polymer guns are good in their own right, but the 1911 will be the creme de la creme forever.

I have a Kimber Supermatch that is by far, my favorite handgun ever! It is an absolute tack driver. I wouldn't trade it for 20 Glocks!
