Pistols, how do you carry?

I am in the process of getting my CCW. I have a XD-40 4" and wonder what CCW rigs you guys have? Do any of you carry something similar and how do you hide it? Show me your rigs please!

I've been carrying (legally) for almost 20 years. Tried a bunch of different pieces and rigs. In hot, humid weather, IMO, it's really tough for a private citizen to conceal something as big as the XDs. I've tried everything from a full size 1911, Sig 220, Glock 19, Colt Defender, Springfield V10, Keltech p11. I have finally settled on my all the time carry piece. It's a Keltech .380. I carry it in my right back pocket, muzzle up. I cut a piece of stiff plastic out of a laundry detergent jug. Drop it in my jeans pocket with the little Keltech behind it. No print. Looks like a wallet.

Good luck carrying your XD without looking like some kind of freak with a photographer's vest or some such oddball thing to cover it.

This is my worry. I am only 5'9" and 200lbs so its a bit hard to hid a full size on my person in hot weather. I would like to get a compact XD, but that would have to wait till I got out of school.

Its all about dressing appropriately to carry.

Or be like Hoss and conceal in a speedo (under a roll?) https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=156504

What about the IWB tuckable holsters? Its inside your pants (or speedo, what an image Hoss) and you can tuck your shirt around it.

Dress appropriately? So no more skin tight leather pants?

OK, phew, that's better. I've heard you can't even say the word "g-u-n" in MD.

I carry a 1911 year round either in a belt holster or in a shoulder rig in the colder months.

Unfortunately for us, more seem to be looking in that direction. I'll stop there before this has to go to the other site.

an IWB tuckable holster will need something like a super chief or small framed revolver. not to mention a pair of pants a size too big.
