My wife works for a man in Newport Beach who has a warehouse full of classic and custom cars. He has 3 full time mechanics who work to restore and customize them.

Quote from the banks site:

When you’ve got an engine as unique as an AV 1790 Chrysler/Continental V12, it’s always handy to have a spare. Jay sent us one of his “extra” engines which arrived in the original US Government nitrogen-filled shipping container so we had an engine for mock-up and measurement apart from the vehicle.
Why would they ship it in a container filled with nitrogen? Just curious why/what for.

My guess would be that they do that to prevent corrosion. ??????

Correct, nitrogen is used for corrosion prevent. Nitrogen is used because of its abundance (78% of the atmosphere is nitrogen), and it does not chemically react with most metals.

If the container is a typical military steel engine container, then not only is it filled with nitrogen, but the container is slightly pressurized to ensure that no outside air contaminates the nitrogen. Regular checks are done to verify that the pressure does not bleed down.
Other things are also done to the engine to ensure no corrosion, such as special rust inhibiting and very sticky oil worked thru the engine and all the spark plugs removed and replaced with special silica gel filled plugs. All holes such as the exhaust will be sealed.
