We had the storms roll through. They could have been worse, glad they weren't. A lot of rain, a lot of wind, a little hail, a little thunder and some really close hitting lightening...as in it boomed on the next block up the hill as I'm still seeing the flash Scared the bejeezus out of me and the dog spectating at the front door We danced around the front door like a buncha chickens, giggling. Well I was giggling, he was just tap dancing and hopping around in his excited way. Then he rolled around on the carpet.

Will be picking up my Inlaws in a half hour (unless there are more flight delays). They're in town for two weeks and staying with my bro in law. Dinner tonight with all of us should be good. Only thing missing is the guy I married that got me hooked up with this bunch. MIL already said she wants me to caption our vacation photos. Trouble is, I don't remember half the names of places we went! What can I say we had wine with lunch and dinner and beer in between for two weeks straight. I was lucky I could tie my shoes
Thank goodness for slip ons huh?

Mornin' y'all.

Today is Wednesday, May 22nd.

1761 - In Philadelphia, the first life insurance policy was issued in the U.S.

1819 - The steamship Savannah became the first to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

1849 - Abraham Lincoln received a patent for the floating dry dock.

1868 - Near Marshfield, IN, The "Great Train Robbery" took place. The robbery was worth $96,000 in cash, gold and bonds to the seven members of the Reno gang.

1872 - The Amnesty Act restored civil rights to Southerners.

1908 - The Wright brothers registered their flying machine for a U.S. patent.

1939 - Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini signed a military alliance between Germany and Italy known as the "Pact of Steel."

1947 - The Truman Doctrine was enacted by the U.S. Congress to appropriate military and economic aid Turkey and Greece.

1955 - A scheduled dance to be headlined by Fats Domino was canceled by police in Bridgeport, Connecticut because "rock and roll dances might be featured."

1967 - "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" premiered on PBS.

1972 - U.S. President Nixon became the first U.S. president to visit Russia. He met with Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev.

1977 - Janet Guthrie set the fastest time of the second weekend of qualifying, becoming the first woman to earn a starting spot in the Indianapolis 500 since its inception in 1911.

1990 - Microsoft released Windows 3.0, and it really hasn't improved any since!

1992 - Johnny Carson hosted NBC's "Tonight Show" for the last time. He had been host for 30 years.

1998 - New information came to light about the June 1996 bombing that killed 19 American airmen. The information indicated that Saudi citizens had been responsible and not Iranians as once believed.

1998 - A federal judge said that Secret Service agents could be compelled to testify before a grand jury in Monica Lewinsky investigation concerning U.S. President Clinton.

2002 - In Birmingham, AL, a jury convicted former Ku Klux Klansman Bobby Frank Cherry of murder in the 1963 church bombing that killed four girls.

Today's profound thought:
Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.

C0ffee and ph00 have been produced.

Have a great day!

Greetings. Had a trip this wknd...all was well until we were about 40 min from hm. A van ran a stop sign onto the highway in front of us. I managed to avoid the van which had several passengers with beer cans visible. The van spun out of control into the center median.

Since that incident I keep waking up from a dream where I'm swerving...and swerving. Can't seem to shake it.Its to the point where I feel its not worth the risk. Need to make some changes.

Utilizing the blade from a D-9 CAT as a front bumper might lessen your worries a little and lower your blood pressure a bit. Just a thought...to help you sleep better.

You're not alone! That's one reason I don't enjoy driving anyone.

Scotty, you need a dash camera.

Evening all. Finally getting out of the hole called West Memphis. We finished today in spite of the threatening sky. We fought this stupid rain for 6 weeks and today when we walked into the lobby of the hotel and the local news was showing no rain in the forecast for the next 7 days.

This rain's getting on my nerves.

Took a picture of a big tom turkey boot-scootin' across my garden chasing after his girlfriend. Notice he's knee deep in the mud.
