****BREAKROOM, 05/19 to 05/25****

Hear ye, hear ye! It is hear-by proclaimed that ye shall enter Ye Olde Breakroom on a daily basis to partake in the festivities, food and beverages, and to report on the activities thou hast participated in, in the previous 24 to 48 hours!

In other words, get your butts in here everyday, tell us what you're up to and have a coffee!

Today is SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAAAAAY!

It's also May 19th, and on this day in:

1643 - Delegates from four New England colonies met in Boston to form a confederation.

1796 - The first U.S. game law was approved. The measure called for penalties for hunting or destroying game within Indian territory.

1847 - The first English-style railroad coach was placed in service on the Fall River Line in Massachusetts.

1856 - U.S. Senator Charles Sumner spoke out against slavery.

1857 - The electric fire alarm system was patented by William F. Channing and Moses G. Farmer.

1858 - A pro-slavery band led by Charles Hameton executed unarmed Free State men near Marais des Cygnes on the Kansas-Missouri border.

1864 - The Union and Confederate armies launched their last attacks against each other at Spotsylvania in Virginia.

1926 - Benito Mussolini announced that democracy was deceased. Rome became a fascist state.

1926 - In Damascus, Syria, French shells killed 600 people.

1943 - Winston Churchill told the U.S. Congress that his country was pledging their full support in the war against Japan.

1958 - Canada and the U.S. formally established the North American Air Defense Command.

1967 - U.S. planes bombed Hanoi for the first time.

1992 - The 27th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution went into effect. The amendment prohibits Congress from giving itself midterm pay raises.

2003 - Hundreds of Albert Einstein's scientific papers, personal letters and humanist essays were make available on the Internet. Einstein had given the papers to the Hebrew Universtiy of Jerusalem in his will.

Today's thought:
Rap 'music' is like scissors... always loses to rock.

C0ffee and p00p00ph00 is ready. Get to it!

Morning. I'm up. I'm still not adjusted back to the time, but getting there. 430am wake ups don't make me old, right?

Pouring a hot cup of coffee. As much as I enjoyed all the real coffee I had in Italy, mine still tastes the best.

OK OK OK - -I am here hearing you. Sheesshsshhhhsshhshhshhshhhh............

Gorgeous morning down south but could use some rain. Trying to get settled back into the norm. Microwave blew up just before we left, so spent way too much time redoing the original setup and installing a new one - - sure purdy. Switching the appliances over to stainless and adding new granite or marble tops - - not settled on the choice yet. Then, that is it - - no more changes - - - NONE. NOPE. FORGET IT. Just get that stupid pool resurface done - - - PLEASE. Sick of the green water with alligators swimming in it - - ready for some tameness and order back in my life. ......

Grabbing my ph00 and heading for the ranch - - have a great day.

Bobby

Mornin.

Shorts, good to see ya. 0430 makes you old.... old, old!

Rick, hope you're back at home. How are things? Truck doing ok?

Bobby... I thought retirement meant less work? We've been getting plenty of rain yesterday and today, I'd love to send some your way.

Mornin... hope everyone is well. Didn't win Powerball last night, but some lucky redneck in Florida did!

Mark,I'm still in West Memphis, Arkansas. We finally finished yesterday but are held here until the middle of next week because we have a day project across the Mississippi in Memphis, TN. The wife moved the truck a couple weeks ago but I haven't seen it in 6 weeks. My hands are starting to shake. (I miss the wife too)

Ah, that's crap... sorry buddy. Money is money, huh? I got over my truck DTs in the AFG when the Navy had 2011 Dmaxes that were deleted... those things were off the hook!

Nah, I think it was in Zypher Hills... it would be something else if Bobby won! I'm ready to go to bed most nights at 9 or so, but the weakness keeps me awake till 1030 or so...

Evening all y'all. Going to the city makes me tired!! DW and I had to cancel Mother's Day for her mom and her dad'd 80th birthday party last Sunday evening. We put our 17 yr old dog down last Sunday morning and neither of us felt like going into the city for party celebrations last Sunday evening so we rescheduled to today. So, we went in today, I fixed stuff around the in-law's house for a few hours and we exchanged gifts. DW and I had to stop at the garden center on the way home, so, 6 hour later we are home and we are BEAT!!! I am just glad that tomorrow is a holiday in Canada.

I hope everyone had a safe and healthy weekend.

Maybe next time one of us DTRers will win it all.

And I won't ask about your weakness.
