Divorced Transfer Case....
I was wondering if any of you guys know where I could get my hands on a divorced transfer case that isn't gonna burn a permanent hole in my wallet... I have a 2wd truck and plan on putting a ford front end under the beast and want to go divorced T-case with equal length shafts. Any help would be much appreciated
The 205 is a part time gear to gear case and without a doubt the strongest OEM transfer case ever offered in a light duty truck from any manufacturer. The 203 is a full time chain driven monster that has a separate range box for high and low range selection that is bolted in front of the chain case. I see no benefit in trying to run a 203....it is larger and heavier and the chain case assembly is not as strong as the 205 gear to gear case.....the 203 range box is quite strong, though and easily as strong as the 205 internals which is the reason why so many people run an adapter that allows the 203 range box to get bolted in front of a 205 for having the ability to have 2 independently selectable low ranges.
