PATDC Meet -n- Greet. January '06

Hello everyone,

I didn't know that there was a DTR PA chapter for diesel events. (I'm new on the DTR)

I had wanted to arrange events and activities for us diesel heads. So I started the PATDC ~Pennsylvania Turbo Diesel Club~

We're having a Meet -n- Greet at Petro's Truck Stop in Avoca on Jan. 7th at Noon.

We are eager and open to all suggestions. We're still getting off the ground.

Many more events are planned for the warmer weather. A KDP party, drag races at Numidia, Knoebel's Day, McDade coal mine tour, Steamtown, etc..

Everyone and anyone is welcome. You don't have to be in PA to get involved. If you're not a member of the boards, or you simply drive a Yugo and wish it were a diesel... you're welcome too!

I'm always open for suggestions or advice. I go by DTroy on all the boards. You can pm me.
My e-mail is: percheron2002@yahoo.com

And the club: No dues. No mandatory meetings. We're very informal. (and friendly)

And the rules: There are no rules.
Come and go as you please.

Also, I've been building a web page. I will have links to our favorite places. Some cool video links. And for anyone that's interested I will post their name or nickname and a picture of their truck or toy.

When I have the web page at least partially finished, I will post the link.

Whadda ya think?

Thanks for checking in mikmaze. I'll do that. The more the merrier.
Maybe we'll see you there.

I didn't know what to expect when I first made a post on the other board asking if anyone would be interested.
I'm really surprised how it's snowballing.

I'm going to drive down to Hazleton this weekend to find a location that will be truck friendly.
I had suggested Hazleton because we have people coming from SE PA. But then guys from CT starting checking in. So it's still in the air.

That's a bit of a haul, but I could probably do it. 7th or 8th, makes no difference to me.

Somebody might ****** that EZ up. I'll mention that you're bringing it.

---------- ------------ -------------- ------------- ---------------

Well, I drove to Hazleton today to check out a meeting spot. For the amount of people that may show up, it didn't look like the best choice.

So, the better choice will be the Petro's Truck Stop in Avoca. It's ideal.
It is right next to I-81. They have parking all over the place. Easy in and out.
More than enough seating area for the group.
Breakfast is available 24 hrs a day. They have a store, arcade, fast food,
internet access, etc... They of course sell diesel there.

We're still open on a meeting time. Is high noon a good choice? ?

I will be there early and late so nobody will be left out. I will be giving out a cell phone number in case someone has vehicle trouble or gets lost.

Also I will post some pics so it will be even easier to get there.
(trust me, it's easy to find)

to my truck? i was trying to rig up a rheostat high idle with my "engineer" buddy and we broke the APPS, thought we broke the ECM and then broke that trying to open it up to look.

good news is that i am working from home at the moment, so taking my truck off the roa was an EASY move, saved enough money by taking it off the road to pay for my mistakes, and got a Mad ECM to replace the regular ECM. Fiance has a TDI jetta to drive to work and for us to get groceries/xmas shopping. we even put a tree on the roof yesterday. Good times!
