If you get power added and get that 10,000 lb monster up to 100 mph or so, it might get tricky stopping in time. My best run has been 104 mph and required moderate breaking to stop before the last turnoff.... and that's at 7600 lbs. But I can't downshift like you can.
Definately want to get there early and have a few runs in before dark (not a big concern now, I guess) so you know where the end is! No lights past the 1/4 trap!

Just looked up results from Ardmore's last points race (like they are having on the 19th). They are running over 130 mph in an 1/8 mile!! Should be fun spectating on Saturday!

Also appears Ardmore Raceway has switched to a summer schedule for Friday Nights.... Gates open at 6 pm - Fun Racing from 7 - 11 PM. That's the schedule for this Friday. Will comfirm it's the same for the 18th, but assume so, at this point.

Still time to solve your problem and 'shine' at Ardmore! Peter at SBC is only a phone call away.
Counting on you to defend 2nd Gen honor against the big grey 3rd Gen.
I'll take care of the black automatic 3rd Gen....

Ya I'm sure you wont have any problem with that.... Is Robert running Smarty 9 on the track??

If I had the extra 3 grand sitting around for a beautiful spring hub dual disk you bet I would have it!!

Brian, that dual disc is no jerkier than his OFE was. I was incredibly impressed with how smooth it was. Also very quiet. None of that dual disc chatter.

That's what I want... Street/towing manners of and OFE with the holding capability of my LUK, FE, light dual disk... 550-600HP range

You guys better look out - I'm bringing a Secret Weapon to Ardmore... it's virtually guaranteed to give me all of the Virtual HP and Fantasy Torque that the '05 needs!

p.s. why wouldn't Robert run Smarty 9 in the quarter? Shucks - he runs it WOT out of parking lots...

p.p.s. Brian, I think you have a very nice clutch... at least it'll hold all of your ponies!

Very nice til you have to finess your truck up a dyno trailer (thank god for 2lo), or get 20k moving without jerking your truck to pieces... Every now and then I will hit that perfect sweet spot and I can get 10k rolling from 1st or 2nd without the slightest hiccup... Doesn't happen that often though...

Just the nature of the beast, want it to hold all 500 ponies so it acts like and on or off switch 95% of the time.. Like I said I love the clutch once rolling... Just the rolling part that can get a bit bouncy

Hmmm......I am not sure the black automatic 3rd Gen is even going to run. Stock transmission has held up well so far, but it has never seen a boosted launch. It has never even seen a launch!!! And, I have ZERO experience in quarter mile drag racing.

My funds are running desperately low. At this point, im just hoping I can come and be an observer! Truck breakdown is not an option for me right now.

Anybody want to buy a really clean 1996 KZ Sportsmen 2250, 1 yr warranty remaining, sleeps a total of 6 w/2 bunks???? I just put it in the DMN for Friday thru Sunday week. I gotta sell it so I can get the Weekend Warrior....aka the new "North Texas DTR home away from home".
