I suspect he'll have to.... but ??
In my experience, without boosted launches, 4x4 only shaves .3 to .5 sec off the ET.... especially with 315's. As long as you don't spin tires, it's not that big a difference. With 265's... it's a must do.

Just got a return call from guy at Ardmore Racway. Two things...
1- They have switched times to following. Gates open Friday nights at 6 pm, Race from 7 - 11. Reason is to stay out of the heat. May go latter hrs come July & Aug.

2-Camper Pads are first come first serve, but he's pretty sure we can have it on the 18th! To all coming... when you enter the raceway...turn left and go around track and past all the buildings. Pond and camper pads are down there somewhere... never noticed it before, myself.

Also, When you sign in (pay)...tell them your racing, if you are. You need to register a racing # at that time. Pick any # you like...except 4. Have to show it on the left rear window so they know who you are when you get on the line. I have some white shoe polish - to put #'s on your window, after you get inside the track.

Don't think it'd help - my fat pig shouldn't have any traction issues - and I don't think the clutch would hold the power level that 4WD would require...

besides, I'm relying on the FRONT diff to get me back to TX!

How do you guys make a living (Crobtex this AIN'T for YOU, I know you just wait for the mail truck to arrive )???
I just adjusted my browser to periodically - and randomly - post on the forums... using some astrology software that Evan hacked.

Guess that explains my post count & content!

p.s. the only reason Charlie waits for the mail truck is so he can cash Tyler's FICA payment while it's hot off the press...

Only other thing I've added since Sept is the traction bars. But I've lost 20 lbs since April 9th.

I'm jealous - my Big Goal is to get the truck back down to GVWR by Ardmore.

Shucks, Rowland - another 28# of dieting and your traction bars will be weightless...

Someone needs to take good pics and movies..................since I probably won't be there.

Got an email yesterday that informed me of a family function in Round Rock that I can't get out of.

Funny, my roommate is having a family function here, and most of his family is from Round Rock.

I know, I know!

Sorry, I had forgot what it was like to have to operate on someone else's schedule.

I may not make it either. My son's ball team has made it to the playoffs. First games are this weekend. If they win, the games will continue next weekend.

You guys are killing me!!

Got a quote for a clutch from peter "I would say go with our DD 3250 12CB spring 6SP
This will offer a great feal and hold plenty of HP and will not require the hydraulic upgrade. If you would however need the hyd. they run $250. The clutch package is $1795."

Maybe I can swing that by end of summer...

I hate to say this and jump on the bandwagon, but I most likely will not make it either.

First thing, is I have my current 5th wheel for sale in the paper and next weekend will be in the RV Trader. I suspect (hope) I am going to get a few calls to show it and sell it.

2nd.....My sister (understandably) prefers for me to purchase their Toyhauler before borrowing it anymore. I don't think im going to be able to sell mine and buy theirs before Ardmore weekend.

3rd....I am broke and running short on Vacation time. I have been going and going and going for the past several weeks. I need a couple of weekends at home to save some money and get some stuff done around the house. I had to go to Mississippi to see about my mother last weekend. Weekend after Ardmore is Memorial Day weekend. June I have a week off scheduled to go to Arkansas....ATV/Camping trip. I love doing all these things....but sometimes you just have to make a decision and slow down and not try to DO IT ALL. I have to many hobbies and to little vacation and money to support them all! (not to mention my concerns about tearing up my transmission on my only transportation)

I hope you guys understand and can make other lodging arrangements without to much trouble. If I sound like im whining.....im really not. I feel very blessed to be in a position to have this sort of problem.

Brian, my buddy was a previous customer of SBC. He's bought 2 OFE's from him (2 different trucks). So peter gave him the sprung hub 3600 dual disc (which by the way my buddy justin is swapping into his truck on monday) and the upgraded input shaft (my buddy had a 5spd) for $1500 shipped. That was no hydraulic upgrades. For the 200 miles he put on the clutch (still ticks me off that he trashed his engine after all that work we went through) the hydraulics worked great.

These guys are killin' me too, Brian!

Guess it's just gonna be us Hard Core racer types... Rowland, Brian, Evan & Mike - yessir, that's the makins' of a fine pit crew right there!

What's our backup sleeping scheme? Do we have a tent we can pitch on the GN? Rowland, is there room in the pits for my trailer or should I plan on scoring one of the camper spots? Is the Ardmore metropolis close enough for convenient takeout/groceries? IIRC, "facilities" are available at the track...

-I'll bring my 6 man tent (sleeps 4 well)... incase of weather.
-Lots of room for trailer where ever we decide to settle into.
-Stores and fast food down the road... maybe 3 miles. (Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, frys etc at track concession stand).
-Indoor facilities at track...no shovel required.

Raceway is one exit north of last Ardmore exit on I-35. Exit at Gene Autry.... turn right. 1/2 mile to stop light...turn right onto Hwy 77. Track is 1/2 mile down 77 on right.
You can see it on your right as soon as you exit I-35 and turn east. Drag strip will be pointing right at you...runs Southeast to Northwest. If good wind out of the south...ET's can get low!
