White face - they look better in the day and are easier to read at night.

I did complete the transaction on the sell of the 5th wheel yesterday (Wednesday). Everything went smooth with the buyers etc.

However........I just learned something new. A Cashier's check means very little. I always thought a cashier's check was as good as money in hand. I took the check to my credit union and they said they couldn't pay off my loan with it until the check cleared in 11 days!!!!!

Needless to say I was dumbfounded! I said....hold that thought.....I'll be back. I took the check to Chase Bank (who it was drawn on) and told them who i was.....showed them all my DL, Police ID, credit card etc....and wanted to cash THEIR check.........made out to me. No go. Still have to wait for it to clear from Buffalo, NY. GEEEEEEEESH!!!

Just remember these days, guys, with all the fraud/forgery going on......that a cashier's check is not much better than a personal check. I have no doubt that the older gentlemen and his wife who bought my trailer are good for the money. But they are about to make a 10 state trip, starting next Tues for about a month........with the trailer. I should have got CASH in hand or at least a wire transfer to my account!!! Lesson learned!!!!

Who would have thought!!!????

Also nothing I K-now of.
Family comes first Charlie... no sweat! I've already scheduled a garage door fix for Sunday
However, should you decide to take Woody with you...we could play watchdogs... and have a bonfire in your honor.

At the bank we see counterfeit cashier's checks, postal money orders, cash, etc. If it can be used as means of payment it can be frauded...sad but true..

That's right, Ryan!

Even wire transfers aren't fool-proof, as there is a window of vulnerability for the recipient... since the funds don't transfer immediately.

I just made an arrest recently for a fraudulent printed up payroll check. I know that forgery/fraud is a problem. But he was trying to cash it at one of those fly by night convenience store check cashing places....not a real bank with their own watermarked check.

But this check was drawn on CHASE! You would think they would have some sort of internal way to verify their own check.

I'll be away from my computer tomorrow. See those of you coming to Ardmore, around 6 pm at the track!
