I will second this comment!, It would be hard to find a nicer group of people to spend some time with. The Porterfields, the Smurfs and our own (RattlinRam) are just a few of the really great people of DTR.

I can name a bunch more, but anyone that has met these individuals, knows exactly what I speak of. DTR has some really great members, and getting stronger everyday!

Re:Eastern NC Dyno Day December 13th

Thanks Top.
I should have a easy week this week and I will try and catch up with Coastal Plains Dragway this week.
I am going to throw out some of my thoughts here and I would like your feed back either via a PM or on this form or a email.
1 The race event needs to start around noon on Sat.
The track will be the warmest then, providing the best traction. I think it will be best for the folks watching as well.
2 Dyno runs can happen at the same time due to the closeness of the track and the dyno. Is that 600 hp Chevy still going to show up?? ;D
3 Does $30.00 to race sound good to everyone??
4 Should we open this up for any and all trucks?? To include gas burners. What about dump trucks and such??

I think I will run the track with our goose neck hooked to my truck. It seams to run the best when towing something.
I am just trying to help get thing thing off to a good start.
See Ya
Chris

Thanks for the kind words Top
I guess I need to add Top to my X-mas card list now.

AND,,,,,,,,,, Where were the Smurfs at Saturday? ??? we missed you and I was so looking forward to getting my butt whooped by Leigh's dually (as if the buttwhoopin from Ed's dually wasn't enough!). Racing with the GN sounds like a good idea Chris,,,,,,,, we can put my truck on it and I might be able to have a better reaction time! :
I won't be doing the dyno, but I guess some more practice at the strip surely won't hurt me. Noon sounds good as you know I need all the "beauty sleep" I can get.
BTW, we talked to some folks at MIR that may be coming also. One of the guys (Merv) has a CTD running twins, that was making some nice high 12's runs and was making it look real easy!

Dennis,

I don't think there's enough beauty sleep in the world for you. You better get to bed right now

Re:Eastern NC Dyno Day December 13th

Good evening
Am I on track with the above questions. Here are my thoughts.
1 1200 showdown sounds good to me.

2 Dyno will run in conjunction with the racing. Dyno runs can start earlier, say 0900 or so that way some of the locals can run there trucks. Glad to hear that the "High powered Durmaxs" will be here. 8) ;D 8)

3 $30.00 is an ok price for me.

4 I think open it up to all trucks, sort of a run it if you want to kinda thing. The only rule here would be it would have to be clean. Not the John_P stanard of clean I am thinking clean enough that "stuff" would not fall off the truck and onto the track.

As far as chow goes we will figure that out as it gets closer.
The above posts where almost to much, good thing I have arm rests on this chair, they kept me from falling out of the chair from laughter ;D ;D

Like Tom said in a earlier post I would like to put a flyer together and start spreading the word. So please let me know if I am on track with where we want this event to go.
See Ya
Chris

Chris:

Everything you have said sounds great to us, including
the $30.00 fee, times, etc. I can bring a BBQ grill up
to Wayne's or Coastal if you want so we can cook
some burgers or hot dogs. Or if everyone wants to head
into town to eat somewhere that is fine with us too.

Also Chris,.......my truck is ALWAYS clean as far as
the interior and paint is concerned, however,.........
what is coming out of the exhaust pipe is another
story!!!!! ;D

Put me down for the greater than one minute quarter mile time runs. The $30 is not even an issue with all the hours I worked last month. I definately need to get away now that the reactor put is back together.

Re:Eastern NC Dyno Day December 13th

Hello to all
We are going to the drag way on Sunday, I hope to talk about our event on the 13th of Dec with Gary.
Tonight we had a new addition to our family. We may have to run it down the track once or twice to see if it was put togather correctly.
The drag way changed to Sunday afternoons for test and tune. We will try and get out there by 1400 or so (2:00 PM)
Take care
See Ya
Chris
