Greetings All!

Hello, My name is Mike and I live in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. We have just purchased a 1999 RAM 2500 with a 24V Cummins turbo diesel. I am an older person, old enough to be retired from 30 years of Government Service and I am on my second career as a private investigator. I have been twisting wrenches for 30 years as a shade tree mechanic and I am a total NOOB when it comes to the diesel motor. I am a cheap guy so expect to be hearing from me a lot as I try to keep this magnificent beast out of the stealers (oops - Dealers) shop!

Cheers!

Mike

Welcome on Mike... and hey, at least you're not Mike.... from Canmore.

Phil, over at Pioneer Chrysler, is a true diehard gearhead, and loves diesels. If you run into any grief, he is definitely a go to guy.

Enjoy the truck, and the DTR.

Hello All!

Many thanks for the warm welcome! I am indeed looking forward to a long relationship with this forum. I have belonged to other forums for cars and motorcycles and I appreciate the power of the collective knowledge and experience.

Mr. Pind - No, but my daughter is from Canmore! Also, thank you for your referral to Phil at Pioneer! You have obviously had dealings with him in the past as friends or as the wrench on your truck?

Cheers!

Mike

I have dealt with him quite a bit on a tech to tech basis.

He's good at what he does. And, being the arrogant jerk that I am, I can tell you that people who are good at what they do, make up a very VERY short list.

He's always willing to answer questions, and actually has the knowledge to back it up. Pleasant to deal with all the time.

If I were to actually take a diesel truck to a shop, there are 4 guys I would go to, and he is on that list.

Otherwise, I do all my own stuff, been working off the back of a service truck about as long as I can remember. Perhaps longer. It's not a job, its a way of life.

have a good one.
