Question Water Pump

My water pump sounds like a squealing belt and has a death wobble going on. Time to change it!
The crappy manual I have says to remove the fan.
Looks to me like all you have to do is drain coolant, remove belt, remove 2 bolts. Is that right or am I having a blonde moment?
They show a picture of a diesel water pump in the manual (I like it when they have pictures ) I see it has an 0 ring. Do they also have a mounting surface gasket or is it a milled surface where you would just use a little permatex. Manual doesn’t say and I haven’t taken it off yet to know, only want to make one trip to the parts store.

Thanks

You are correct, all that needs to come off is the belt and 2 bolts.

There is only the O-ring for a gasket. No blue goo needed or wanted.

The thing that takes the longest is draining and refilling the coolant.

Yep///easiest waterpump repair that I have ever done. The belt is the only thing that is the least bit tricky.
I changed mine on the side of the road.

I think we females are more organized than our male counterparts. We even read the instructions.

Instwhat?

I thought that paper in the box was to put under the old part to keep the dirt and grease from getting on the truck.
