tranny problems
whenever i'm in third gear i get this loud pop sound from under the forward part of the truck. the sound happens every 2-3 secs. and only when accelerating. it doesn't do it in any other gear but third. when shifting it almost feels like there's something loose in the tranny. could it be possible that i broke some teeth off of third gear?
the bad thing is that i have to drive to South Carolina at the end of the month, since i'm moving before i get deployed for 5 months. i plan on dropping the tranny and getting it completly rebuilt while i'm gone, but i'm kinda woried about making the 500 mile trip pulling a small trailer.
any help would be great

If you broke teeth off of 3rd gear I'd expect the popping to be steady, not every few seconds... but it does sound like something in the 3rd gear power flow through the tranny.
Don't sweat the 500 mile trip - you can easily get there without using 3rd gear!
