OK so i was just looking at the service manual thanks to a member at another site. I guess u are right. Since thats the only seal why do you think that its leaking still

I think its just the seal. Im proboly goin to go to the cummins dealer and get the right one.

Did you put the seal in facing the correct direction? The flat end of the seal goes against the head.

While at Cummins dealer, get a theromstat also. Good chance the aftermarket thermostat is adding to your frustration. Besides many of us have had nightmares with aftermarket stats. JMHO of course.

I've replaced dozens of stats without problem, just the large o-ring seals it.
Never any silicone goop or paper gaskets.
Perhaps you overtightened it and are ruining the o-rings or bent the housing.
