Re:Sensor maybe?

My 98.5 has done that to me 3 times. I still haven't figured out what does it. I'm trying to find an inexspensive code reader for the truck. Haven't had any luck so far. If you find out what caused it let me know and i'll let you know if i learn something. My does it just like you said going fine dies for a few seconds then comes back on with the check engine light.

Re:Sensor maybe?

The 1693 code is just telling you that a code is also stored in the ECM as well as the PCM.

There are a couple of OBD II sites that misrepresent that code.

I have a link at home to a good site I'll have to edit this post later to include it.
And here it is. http://www.batauto.com/chrysler/

I noticed if you just go to their OBDII section, the 1693 is a turbo control circuit which is incorrect.
It is correctly identified in the Chrysler specific section.
