Pukeing fuel!

Pulled into my basement last night and went upstairs, went back down to put wood in the stove and noticed a diesel smell, looked under my truck and found two small drips under the front of the truck on the drivers side. I couldnt see anything wet on the top so I looked under her and saw that it seemed to be dripping off the wire going to the senser that you guys are changing to advance the timeing. I couldnt really see above there very well because everything is so close there. I've had the truck for alittle over two years and I dont remember it ever doing this. Any ideas? Thanks LCH

when mine was leaking from the WIF drain, it dripped onto the wiring and then down.. you might check that as well...

Ok, go ahead and laugh now but what is the WIF drain? Is it the plastic tube droping down on the drivers side? LCH

Called the dealer today and they don't have a diesel tech in until monday so I'm gonna wait until then. I hope it doesn't get worse before then. I guess I'll look at the manual and try to start learning what some of the fuel system parts are in that area. Any more suggestions would be great...LCH

I'ts coming from up front of that tube on the drivers side somewhere. There's something there next to the belt on that side that looks like it has fuel lines running to it and it seems like the leak is in that area..LCH

WIF=Water in Fuel.
There is a canister filter on the fuel ines, about halfway down the engine on teh drivers side. This seperates water from the fuel prior to it going to teh pump. there is a plastic tube running from the bottom of this down to the axles. this tube is missing on every truck I've eer seen..
From what your describing though, it isnt this filter, sorry it would have been an easy fix.
