low idle

low idle

ok time for dumb summer questions but having this problem with my 98 12v auto with new pump from industrial injection ildes at 850 out of gear 650 in gear and tries to die with a/c on just ajusted valves anyboby know if this might be a pump problem pump is 8 deg above stock #6 plate 191 delivery valves runs great but this little prob also it has new tranny with billet tourqe converter thanx for any help>

As long as it's not trying to pull you through intersections when you are sitting at a light, speed it up. The tach is not real accurate at low RPM.

hahahaha ok but should it idle high do u think the stout tranny could be draging the motor down? it does roll when i put it in gear right now but you are saying it shouldnt take off and shift into 2nd hahahahaaha

Between the tight converter and the A/C compressor it's a lot of load. You might try tightening the governor springs one click if you have a GSK in there.

i just kicked idle up to about 950 and drops to about 700 with a/c and in gear not bad not falling on its face anymore. lol

Yeah, spec is 650 in gear with the A/C on so that's not too bad.

Not the star wheel, the governor spring retainers inside the pump.

Actually no, the spec is 750-800 rpm in gear with AC on:
