Exclamation Losing oil pressure in my 12v

i was drving back to mass yesterday from ohio and in about buffalo Ny i was cruising at about 75 i lost all oil pressure. i pulled to the side of the road and let her idle down and oil pressure came back. I shut down the truckand checked the oil and it still in the safe mark. I got back in and started the truck and had ol pressure. i gave it a little free rev and it dropped to 0. Then iit reurned to about 35. getting up to speed it would go to 0 but when the converter locked up it went back to 40 and would slowly dropp to about 10.
I babied the truck the whole way home and made sure the pressure gauge didnt dropp that much the rest of the trip and let it idle down in the driveway, and it still did it. any ideas????
all help will be appreciated.

Most likely a flaky sender. Didn't make any scary noises, did it?

ok now i went out to start the truck this morining and it had zero pressure at idle. It was normal before. then i revedit up to about 2000 after engine warmed and got pressure back then went away at idel. before it would lose pressure when reving engine. Still cant hear any abnormal noises. can i check the oil pressure with a fuel pressure gauge they are both mechanical. I dont have a oil gauge handy..... i am freeking out now, because this truck is my baby and i cant afford to lose it.

i dont know how much the sender is but it is right behind the powersteering pump fill bottle. It is raining today and i dont have a garage to pull into because it has a deer being butchered . MMMMMMMM...deer meat! But i think im gonna take it into school tomorrow and play with it.

the ticket says i was doing 89 mph , but my gps said 75 and speedo send 70. The cop was backing up a hill at the time he said he shot me and i have a passenger!!! It figures, not even 5 miles into the state and Whaaammmmm....
truck is also govenred at 80mph , after i remove the 3kgsk !!!! hmmmm sounds like i got me a good fight on my hands ....

still worried about this oil problem... i dont like it.

It's just the sender, nothing to get alarmed about. If you have a 100 psi gauge you can check the pressure at the oil filter head. The little pipe plug next to the turbo supply hole is the port to use.

The symptoms you're having are EXACTLY the same I had on my 93. It was just the sender---as others have already said.
