Leaking Fuel

Went to change the fuel filter today on 92 W350, seen a couple drips of fuel, well put the new one on and now the fuel seems to be running out of the little 1/2 adapter where the filter screws on. When I took off the old filter I thought I seen that adapter turn a little but I wasn't sure and I tried to turn it back and it doesn't seem to move. What gives? Anyone else have this problem or know what the fix is? Thanx in advance.
Rich

Re:Leaking Fuel

Alright, I'm assuming that the adapter that I'm referring to is actually the fuel heater. How does it come off? Is there an O-ring that could have gone south?

Jumk Yard:
As I recall, there is an o-ring on the adapter (heater?) The filters used to come with an o-ring for this center piece, but I don't think anyone ever installed them so they quit sending them. I have several on my dipstick tube.
In any case, yes, there is an o-ring. I think I remember that the easiest way to change it was to remove the entire housing since the ring sits in a recessed groove.
I hope I am not confusing with my first gen.
george

Re:Leaking Fuel

Thanx for the help Smokey, when I spun the filter (someone put it on with a torque wrench set at 100 ft lbs.) the heater also turned a little, like a 1/2", anyhow cleaned the surface of the heater and under the intake where it mounts, a little bit of rust scale under there, put it back together with a light film of grease, spun the filter on, fired the old girl up, wooooo-hoo no leaks. Thanx again for taking the time to reply.
Rick
