Help with rad drain.

Just drained my coolant so I could replace it, now drain will not close. Used my fingers to loosen the drain but when I went to close it its just spins. Surely it not that fragile. Anyone have this problem.

It shouldn't be. I drained mine last month. Maybe the threads aren't catching...push it in when turning it right.

They break real easy. You can get a new one at the dealer, or any of the cheapo auto part's. You will have to dig out the old insert that the plug screws into. You have to use a pair of needle nose, and break the old one to get it out.

Once you get the new one, you will see how to do it.

A picture's worth a thousand word's.

The piece on the left snap's into place inside the radiator. Then you screw in the other piece.

Thanks for everyone's help. I pulled the draincock out and although I had blown it out with air it still tured out to be some crud stuck in it. Cleaned it out and it worked like a charm.
