Help please,FP Gauge problems...
I recently had Autometer Z series gauges installed on my truck. Within two weeks time I developed a problem with the gauge face on the FP that would have condensation build up while driving down the road.... this would occur in the morning and afternoon on a short commute to/ from work and both occassions it would eventually clear up. I contacted Autometer and their response was that due to weather and humidity that this may occasionally happen. They did offer a solution for me to send the unit back to them to which they would place an anti-fog solution on the lense. My first question is this occurs on the FP gauge why does it not happen to other gauges?
Also while driving the truck this past Saturday while at a stop light I noticed that the FP gauge was bouncing erratically between 10-15 at idle and under load appeared to be not as significant. This morning while on the commute to work, watched the needle drop to "0" for a brief second and then return between 10-15. I am wondering if I have a faulty gauge. I did have an experienced diesel mechanic install the gauges so I do not think its installation error. This problem also occurred on Sunday and this morning while driving to work (both fog and erratic needle movement).
I did speak with the mechanic that installed the gauges and we are going to get a mechanical gauge hooked up this week to see what is going on. I do have the Walboro 392 kit to install and hopefully will correct the weakest point of the truck. The only other issue that I can think of is checking for codes. I will do that this afternoon after work, any other direction/ assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!!
