I don't have mechanical guages but I'd guess your getting the vibration directly from the engine thru the oil hose...?
Maybe there's some sort of "snubber" or isolation piece you can add to the hose to reduce the hum. Good luck.

I had mechanical Autometer guages in my old hot rod.... But I couldn't hear anything because it was a mechanical lifter, 509cubic inch rat with dual 3.5" exhausts dumped right before the rearend... Talk about rumble...

I know it is the oil becasue I disconnected it and it was gone so it sucks. Is sounds like I have a hum like the guys with the dicol boost gauges. Maybe putting rubber hose along the whole oil line. But the trans and fuel work great.

Have you got a 1/8" nylon hose, or braided stainless running to the gauge?

My guess is your brass line is absorbing alot of harmonics from the Cummins and transfering them to your guage... Just a guess.

I ran fuel line over the brass line from the engine to the gauge and it is gone. So if you run brass cover it in fuel line no more noise. Thanks for all the help.
