fuel line pressure

fuel line pressure

i am working on a 2000 ram with a walbro pump what is the fuel line pressure suppose to be before the lift pump? everything else on the truck is stock.

i am not sure it was on the truck already. but it has a check valve system that looks like it bleeds pressure back to the tank if it gets to high. it has more power half power throttle than full

I believe that mine was factory set at 20 psi. Mine is a 392.

Have you changed your fuel filters? Is there a pre pump filter?

no pump filter but there is the valve six inches from the pump i think that might be sticking open at wide open throttle. has anyone ever heard of that?

Do you have a FP guage?

What color is the bypass valve?

If it looks like this, you got gyped...

ya i have a gauge it reads 20 at idle and drops like 10 psi when i step on it.

Ok, so it's the right bypass.

Is 10 as low as it goes?

I run mine at 10 PSI, I can suck mine down to 5 psi when everything is set to kill.

Where do you take your fp reading at?

Hmmm... as long as you have positive pressure, you should not be having problems related to FP... I could run mine down to 0 before it would stutter.

2nd gen... right? Could be a VP issue...

Have you changed your Fuel filter?

Any codes?

no codes and the vp was changed two weeks before i got it like 4 weeks ago and yes to the filter i am lost
