Deadly CLICK
Morning ALL..
Bad time last night,,I think my VP-44 Died after 212000 miles,,,
I am in the process of changing it now,,, I was turning the engine over with the altenator nut to get the IP key way at 12 O clock,,when I heard a "SNAP" ..Now using the alt nut I see I was turning the engine over backwards,,What did I break??? It sounded plastic..
HELP...
I will be in and out of the house to check this post ...

I am installing a good used IP,, On my old pump it has a 035 key in it,, Now the used pump I am puttin in,stamped on the side is 046 where my original pump is stamped 035,, Will my 035 key work? Or do I need to get a 046 key for this pump?
I am thinking the CLICK I heard was in the old IP...Cause she dont turn to easy Now that it is out...

Thats wierd, my belt will slip if I try to turn the engine back even a hair...
For anyone who is wondering ti was when I did the GSK, and sure enough I passed the spring by about 20 thousanths and the retainer wouldn't come off...so I had to put the clip back on and turn the engine all the way back to the spring...instead of going back an 1/8 of a turn...

She Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Contacted the guy I got the used pump from and he had the keyway I needed ,,, AND She RUNS AGAIN!!!!!!!..
