It goes into gear very unwillingly, if at all, it doesnt want to stay in 2nd and OD is really noisy. Clutch hydraulics appear to be working fine. Something acts like its in a bind. Even when I shut it down, engine and tranny seem to stop more abruptly, weird.

Acts like something is loading the transmission. I backed it into my carport and it acted like the rear brakes were applied something is binding in the transmission or clutch. Something is really in a bind with transmission in reverse, clutch depressed, truck will not roll freely. Truck in nuetral rolls freely.

Doesn't the G360 take 5w-30 engine oil?

Yes, that is the factory recommendation. Many people run Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30. Redline MTL and Royal Purple Synchromax are also acceptable, their viscosity is in the same range as 5W-30.
