i've sprouted a tranny fluid leak and upon refilling i see that the dip stick says to use dexron II. however, it's a DTT hybrid tranny with some '96 guts in it. also, i have a gallon of dexron III in my hand. so can i use the III or should i go get some II?

Probably has the dextron 3 in there! Get you some lubegard to add to it also-good stuff! Although Chrysler still recommends ATF-3 or 4!

Can you even get Dex II anymore?

 

Once they change out the guts you can use dexIII no problem.I called my trans shop to ask and that is what they put in.Hope this helps.<><
