Question alternate Lift pump problems

After reading about the holley Blue pumps I started to get low fuel pressure. My meter read 5 psi. I replaced it with a carter 180-P4601HP (jegs part number). My problem is now my meter reads 4 psi.

Do I need to adjust the pressure for the carter pump? Does the carter pump deliver 14 psi right out of the box with no mods or adjustments? What is the typical pressure seen when installed on our trucks?

Thank you for the help....

I just had the filter changed, less than 1000 miles on it. I changed the filter hoping to get rid of the puel pressure issue.

My thought now is the fuel pressure gauge is faulty. I'm borrowing a 10 PSI test guage and see if it will peg the meter.

arroyojim,

How many miles were on your truck before you sarted to use B100? make B100 for my VW Golf TDI. I did not want to try it on my truck with 190,000 miles.

That is good information! Thank You. I was worried about gunk getting into the injection pump as B100 is a great cleaner!

Adding filters will be good. I will probably add the twist on quart filter near the tank. Thanks for info. No to restart my B100 production....
